Notes On The Margin

I finish the mundane tasks that I have to do on a daily basis, check my ToDo list once, and then once again, yet I still feel that something is missing. What? I quickly check some of my favorite news sites, but find that my concentration is flitting, my attention span hardly able to go through a few paragraphs. Feelings of guilt permeate my being: when I shower, when I eat, when I sleep. Nothing feels good, nothing is satisfying. I feel so damn helpless!

Nevertheless, Politics go on . . . and there on C-Span is Marianne Williamson, who is nowadays a Democratic Candidate for President, talking a lot of sense, especially as to how Corporate, Industrial, Processed Food is ruining the health of the nation, especially children. She is right. The United States spends more money on Health than any other Industrialized Nation, yet we have the lowest life expectancy, the highest number of chronic diseases, the highest number of avoidable hospitalizations and deaths, the highest amount of drug usage, and, Big Pharma and Health Insurance Lobbyists that are more invested in their Profits than in taking care of people. How can that be? Sadly, the Ralph Naders, Bernie Sanders, Jill Steins, Cornel Wests and Williamsons who address these issues are not considered worthy of being seen, or heard by the Biased Bought-and-Paid-for Corporate Media Schmucks except peripherally, as well as by a  monopoly of the two-party system! Ugh!

Speaking of Health: What about the Health of our Planet? COP28, was a fiasco as far as I can tell. Billionaires, Fossil Fuel Lobbyists and Oil producing Executives all chummy Mixing and Mingling and . . . they are way behind the curve, because D-Day is around the corner, if not already upon us! That the Global South will, of course, suffer the most does not seem to concern them too much. What’s a few Million, or, maybe even a Billion lives lost/uprooted due to climate ravishes? It is the same with AI! They are way behind the curve on that one too! Already our Whole Violent and Unjust World is being daily threatened by Hackers, Cybercriminals, Ransomware Purveyors and Scammers preying on Humans, Corporations, Organizations and Governments. Add AI to that and the future looks Ominous, to say the least!

Across the Planet there is Discontent with Politics and Political Leaders who don’t seem to understand that they have to, they must, change their modus operandi and attitudes. Simply looking at our US Government is enough to send chills up and down our spines! The Republican Party is doggedly pursuing how to take us back to the Dark Ages and to more Corporate Power, Greed – whereby the Rich are getting Richer and the Poor are becoming Destitute – and leaving us Ordinary People in the clutches of Authoritarianism. As for the Democrats, and with Hakim Jeffries as their leader, I am not betting on their standing up for their Proclaimed Values! So far, Hakim and many of them are as disgraceful as some Republicans! What will the future of this country unfold? Many are warning us! Articles, Books and Lectures galore are abundant! Scary and Dangerous!

Nevertheless, our War Appetite will not abate as far as I can tell, and as the historical record of our meddling and war-mongering are proof enough. The Colonist Enterprise will prevail and will not be deterred, putting us, and the whole world, at risk. Haven’t warmongers had enough already?

A lot has been said about the subject of Rape, so let me say this: Raping Females is an act of Violence. No justifications. No excuses. It is a Crime! And, Rape as an act of War is just as heinous! We should not forget, though, that It has been practiced in almost all wars and throughout time, especially by those Nations protesting the loudest! Ours as well! I do not have any proof that some of the Israeli Hostages were raped. If they have been, I am outraged! However, what I do know is that the Hamas Resistance Fighters, who are devout Muslims, are generally against rape. What is the Real Story about all this then? No one knows for sure! Moreover, the Israeli Government has a track record of Lies, Deceit and Propaganda, including producing fake videos and media posts and articles. One example in this recent war on Gaza is that there were beheaded children, which warmongering pathetic Biden reiterated with no proof whatsoever! However, and no matter how many times such alleged atrocities are repeated by the Israeli Government  and its “Assets” (who may be White, Black, Brown or Purple, Jewish, Christian, Muslim or Other) situated in the Administration, the State Department, the Corporate Media et al. in today’s world the truth always emerges. Moreover, the outright Denials that what is occurring in Gaza is simply rooting out Hamas without intending to harm the civilians of Gaza is enough proof for me of the Lies, Deceit and Propaganda! Throughout the past eighty years of my existence I have been witnessing how the Israeli Government has created this fantastical mythology to bolster its cause and to erase from the World’s Memory any possible feelings of Guilt, or Responsibility towards the Palestinian People’s ongoing Nakba! The United States Colonist Enterprise and our European Colonist Allies are Complicit with that mythology, as well as with striving to embellish their violent past with Heroic Legends that camouflage a horrific history of atrocities! The Vengeful War on Gaza, more than any other, has upended that fantasy despite the fact that all International Laws, Geneva Conventions, a Marginalized United Nations, the International Red Cross and all Organizations providing proof of the on-going and merciless travesty are systematically sidelined! It is beyond Genocide, and beyond Words! Frankly Putin’s War on Ukraine makes him seem like a Saint when compared to Netanyahu’s War on Gaza!

Lastly, what lifts up my spirits are the thousands of worldwide supporters demonstrating, especially Jewish, White American and European Humans; the many foreign journalists and writers expressing their support and calling out Israel’s Extremist Government; the modern world we are living in where Lies, Deceit and Propaganda are revealed as fast as they are uttered. Israel is, definitely losing on that front!!

These are extraordinarily Dark Times we are living through anywhere you look, and I apologize for today’s Doomsday Scenario! Meanwhile, I hope that those who Planned, Were Complicit and Supported the War on Gaza, or Any War Anywhere will forever be Haunted by the Heartbreaking Crying of Innocent Children and the Callous Nomenclature: Collateral Damage! Enjoy the upcoming Holidays as best as you can, and I wish us all, and especially Gaza, the West Bank and all Humans undergoing Wars, Hunger and Uprooting: Peace! Peace! Peace! Peace!
